WHAT KIND OF BOAT

MONO OR CATAMARAN

It is clear that it should be a boat, so far so good. Except for a catamaran - I used to sail on small versions - nothing else really comes into question for me, so a mono is not an option right from the start.

YouTube and various other sources have confirmed this. Catamarans are true space miracles, for us the most important argument besides safety. And since we come from living in a house and will also live on the boat, we are also used to space. However, a catamaran also costs almost twice as much, let's see if that will be compatible with our budget.

NEW OR USED

That's probably a valid question. I guess not only for us, but for many adventurers, where money doesn't grow on trees either. With the Corona crisis, the yacht market has also changed dramatically. The demand for alternative housing has exploded. As a result, used baots are often almost as expensive as new ones. Everything in the range of 47 feet and larger has turned out to be "not budget compliant", even as a used boat. Which brings me to the next question...

PS the 3 ships on the picture are between 44 and 52 feet, price range: 890'000.- to 2'200'000.- USD, new price! Later more.

WHICH SIZE

As big as necessary and as small as possible, that's what you read EVERYWHERE! Exactly what does that mean, I have no idea! What we do know, we will primarily live on the baot as a couple. With everything you need - what exactely...?

From time to time we also expect visits from friends and family. They also have to sleep somewhere, store their luggage, shower and be able to use the toilet. But how big does the ship have to be to serve all these requirements?
